Make sure the water and ice from your refrigerator is as clean and fresh tasting as possible by replacing its water filter. This Whirlpool PuR water filter is used in Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Amana, and JennAir side-by-side refrigerators with filter access in the base grille.
It's NSF-certified to reduce cysts, particulates (class I), lead, mercury, and more. (The contaminants or other substances removed or reduced by this water filter are not necessarily in all users' water.) While it effectively removes contaminants from your water and ice, this filter also lowers the taste and odor of chlorine while retaining beneficial fluoride.
For the highest quality water and ice, your refrigerator's water filter needs to be changed over a period of time as its effectiveness at cleaning the water is reduced. For optimal results, you should replace this refrigerator water filter every 6 months to ensure clean, safe drinking water and ice.
Your refrigerator will even remind you when to change its filter, turning on an indicator light found near the water dispenser. Changing the filter is easy--just locate the old filter, twist and turn it until it becomes loose, then pull the old filter out and replace with the new filter.
This model (4396841) can be used to replace the following models of water filter:
For side-by-side refrigerators with filter access in the base grille, follow these instructions for replacing your filter:

When considering campfire recipes for kids, simple is always better. The basics work quite well like hot dogs and smores but there are many other recipes to consider.
Hot Dogs Wrapped in Dough
You can create your own "corndog" by taking some pre-made biscuit dough adding the called for amount of water and wrapping a hot dog that has already been placed on a stick with the dough. Be careful not to place the dough too thick otherwise it will not cook thru. Cook until golden brown over the fire and service with mustard or ketchup.
Meatballs
I have one child that is VERY picky but loves meatballs. Why not either purchase pre-cooked or make your own meatballs, be sure to cook them thoroughly before your camping trip and re-heat in foil packets that you tuck into the hot coals. You could even add sliced potatoes, carrots and add your choice of seasoning to make this a complete meal.
Grilled Sandwiches
With a pie iron you can make any type of grilled sandwich your imagination can come up with. Grilled cheese, turkey and cheese, ham and cheese, even a pizza sandwich! And most kids are perfectly content with just a regular 'ole sandwiches while camping so be sure to bring along the peanut butter and jelly for times when the kids are hungry and the fire is out.
Waffles
Waffles are such a versatile food and can be included in your camping trip foods. A waffle iron will allow you to cook your waffles over the campfire. My kids (bless their hearts) do not like eggs but will devour waffles so having the ability to cook waffles over a campfire is great.
Eggs
Eggs aren't just for breakfast and if you've got kids who love scrambled eggs, you can scramble eggs with your choice of other ingredients, take a plastic ziploc type bags, oil the inside of the bag, add your ingredients, squish the bag and then drop it into a pot of boiling water. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes or until the eggs have set. The best part - no clean up!
Ramen Noodles
Even though this may not be the healthiest choice, pre-packaged foods such as ramen noodles work quiet well around the camp site, especially the kids packaged in styrofoam cups. All you need to do is add hot water and allow the liquid to cook the noodles.
